Day 1 Patch (and Thank You)
Hello Everyone! We got a lot of great feedback in our first 24 hours of Tiny Genesis and we wanted to act on a few things immediately. I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to play our little game. This is our first game to gain so much attention and we want to make sure that those of you who enjoy the game feel heard. So, here’s what’s in this update:
Changes
- All tiles now only have 2 or 3 tiles in their recipe to improve on clarity
- Upgrading an element is now more impactful (0.1x → 0.25x)
Fixes
- Browser version now plays when you are tabbed out or unfocused
- You can save you progress in Brower by pressing ESC and selecting save and quit (autosave feature is not cooperating)
- Reduced tile discovery popup time and made it skippable after 0.5s (it was very long)
- Tutorials have been updated to reflect changes, and grammar was improved
We received a lot of feedback on ways to improve the game and we intend to address as much as we can in the next update. Some of the concerns raised included:
- downtime waiting for next elements was unsatisfying
- Tutorial was a little bare or unclear or not shown when it needed to be.
- we have addressed some of the frustration in discovering tiles, but we believe we can make it better
Please continue to provide us with feedback and we will continue to turn this game into something better! We have some plans to expand the game, but we want to hear what you wanna see. Thank you all, see you in the next post!
