I'm sorry about that. For some reason the saving and loading only works on the WebGL version sometimes. However, the Desktop version seems to work fine.
Just started this game and immediately got Grindcraft nostalgia haha. It's not even that similar, but this system of working out resources and what to craft brings back memories. Really love the hexagon system too, great work!
Stone generates tech points based on sum of production around it, so you need to put it next to your production units. I think the tutorial isn't clear enough.
any hint on how to get "scorched earth" achievement? i've tried like a lot of things, surrounding earth tile with fire, lava, volcano, villages surrounded by those, as many volcanos i can fit at once... just a whole lot of things
There's a success names 'Atlantis', I tried all the possible merges with villages but I haven't found anything yet. Is there any hidden tiles (apart from the one first masked with a question mark) ?
Tutorial is kinda brief, you leave players to themselves in some of the game's aspects. For example, just one lil tutorial window about 4 top-right buttons. But "tech-tree" is very important part of your game (which isn't that much "idle", i'd say, because there is a complex system of bonuses to learn, which you also don't mention). How about after players place 2 earth tiles on the grid, tutorial window suggests to push the tech-tree button, where they can atleast get an idea what exactly they need to merge to progress. Because at first try i got 1 stone tile, and 0 production, so i thought that i'm "stuck". Maybe in next version you'll add to some tiles which are currently tech-only, some production aswell ? Oh, and why element "air" isn't in the game? Wind spread seeds... Also, shouldn't merging desert with water create an oasis? )
After discovering 2 of 4 tiles from a column left to 3 basic elements, i was sure that the rest 2 also would require merging of two tiles. That's actually the 2nd (not prime) reason why TWO fires are needed to be merged with a tile (which in reality could be easily burnt starting from just one match) is ultra-counterintuitive! So i could discover 3rd element from the leftest column only out of pure accident. Also, it makes thinking of 4th tile from that column much harder, because amount of possible combinations grows exponentially! Maybe it's quite easy and obvious for you, makers, but that tile and "scorched earth" are only two things that left unclear for me in your lovely game
I really like the concept and the game, but I got some frustrations playing it, so wanted to share my experience in case it can help you:
I got the 3 elements and their trees + 3/4 dual mixes on the left, but I couldn’t figure out the 2nd one, and actually the 1st one was lucky, but they’re not very obvious imo.
I don’t really know what could I do next despite mixing random tiles, which isn’t a very pleasant experience to me at least. And, while doing that, there isn’t much I can do with the resources…
Once you’ve discovered the tiles for each element, there’s little to do after until you get to the required research credits or whenever you fill the board.
Research credits don’t seem to be of much use despite purchasing new tiles. Maybe you expand it in the future, but right now once you purchase the tiles it becomes useless
Despite that, great work and good game, hope you keep expanding it _
I love that you have a browser version available! (Some of us don't use Windows.)
I managed to fumble my way through unlockables completion (but not achievement completion). It might be interesting to allow the player to increase the map size with research credits.
One frustrating part was how on the tech tree, when looking at <?> tiles; sometimes the requirement lines running from a source block to that <?> mystery block intercept through another block. Mistakingly thinking it's also a source block. (I spent ages trying to get desert desert and mountain mountain blocks to create what turned out to be mesa... realising it was meant to be fire, not desert.)
Oh, and the information of what resources effect which other resources is troublesome. Village has so many increases, that it cannot all fit in that one window. Also, Cliffs says it increases other Cliffs but that's not actually the case.
I really dig this game. It took me longer than it should have to realise that you can move and delete tiles, which would have made a huge different earlier on (but I guess that's on me for not reading tutorials fully...), but I managed to get up to village before realising.
I don't know if they're meant to work like that, but it seems like research tiles like Causeway and Glacier say that they should synergise with themselves as neighbours, but end up providing +0% benefit to any of the tiles of the same type. Is that right, or is that a bug..?
SPOILERS FOR THE LAST TILES. And how to get Atlantis and a way to get Powerhouse. I have everything (17/18 tiles) except the top one in the disconnected leftmost column that shows up near the end. Help for that, please! Also, help for how to get Atomic, Scorched Earth, and Factory.
Disconnected, leftmost column tiles, from bottom to top:
This is an addictive experience! I really enjoyed creating this tiny world and attempting to optimize as best I could. Spending prestige points to upgrade the output I get at the cost of starting the world over makes for a satisfying game loop.
If I had to give some feedback, I feel the cost of purchasing water and fire tiles is a bit too steep. I think maybe half the cost would be a bit more reasonable for both. (Just my personal take!)
Overall, this was a very satisfying game. I’m definitely going to play more of it and go for all those achievements! Great work on this!
really polished and satisfying. I got up to mountaint, fully upgraded dirt, got a config with about 1355 production and just feel like I'm waiting forever with nothing to do to get 10000 to unlock another element. love this kinda thing, and its off to a great start :D
i found best way is to make rows of the last 3 in the tree to get to 100,000. so like a row of desert, row of valcano, row of mesa (if you are doing fire)
Sorry this happened to you! We have fixed it now. Make sure to use the save option in the escape menu as the autosave on the browser is being inconsistent ☺️
Very interesting concept, but perhaps I was doing something wrong. I found trying to discover new tiles past the basic Earth ones to be very frustrating. I got Water to 5 and Earth to 3 before messing around again but couldn't discover either of the tiles that were supposed to be produced by combining Ice and Soil/Mountain.
Also the game does not function while on the itch.io site when not the active window.
I messed with Ice+Soil and Ice+Mountain for a good 5 minutes a piece and couldn't get anything. Tried all sorts of formations. Glad to see it wasn't just me.

I'm not sure, but i think this is a max setup when you have everything unlocked, help me improve it if i'm wrong.
Edit:
I moved like 2 things and it made it slightly better.
and how the hell do you get some of these achievements? (atomic, scorched earth, factory, completionist, atlantis)
Edit2:
After over 2 hours, I think this is it, I still don't know how to get some of these achievements, but I think this is the MAX setup...
@UntrainedMonkey
great game but needs a lot more elements and more progression maybe a way to expand the amount of tiles you can have on the board
agreed
how the hell do you get powerhouse
I got it by surrounding a wheat field with 4 villages
I hope this game has an update in the works
will this be updated again, this is a real good idea, if it had more elements and stuff, it would be even better. I hope this game gets updated
gg
I saved and quit but lost my progress anyways? QAQ
I'm sorry about that. For some reason the saving and loading only works on the WebGL version sometimes. However, the Desktop version seems to work fine.
okay, thanks regardless!
Update when? Its a grate game and i would love more, Perfect 10/10, great art, and fun gameplay, I even replayed it before i learned how to save lol.
how do i get water
Just started this game and immediately got Grindcraft nostalgia haha. It's not even that similar, but this system of working out resources and what to craft brings back memories. Really love the hexagon system too, great work!
so uh , whats the other FOUR tiles? ( i have discovered everything execpt those four tiles)
someone else in the comments posted these so thank you to op
the four tiles on the left are
fire + water
lava + water
forest + fire + fire
desert + desert + water
ThANK YOU SO MUCH!! yippee!
The fire one is 100,000 but it takes an hour to get 20,000. Is there a better way to do this
just honeycomb glacier and forest. I have 4 forest and 8 glacier, and I'm getting more than 7k tech/s, which is 1e5 research in about 300 secs.
how do you get to that point in the game? i only have the earth elements so far
OH MY GOD YOU CAN PUT SOIL AROUND THE STONE TO GET MORE TECH POINTS ?????
Stone generates tech points based on sum of production around it, so you need to put it next to your production units. I think the tutorial isn't clear enough.
*Takes note*
get water first
does this game save??
yes !! just click esc and theres a "save & exit" option there
I COULD'VE SAVED 13 HOURS OF PROGRESS WHAT THE FUCK?
what is the last tile? the one on the left top corner
forest?
Oasis, two desert and water
any hint on how to get "scorched earth" achievement? i've tried like a lot of things, surrounding earth tile with fire, lava, volcano, villages surrounded by those, as many volcanos i can fit at once... just a whole lot of things

Anyways, fantastic game
atlantis is one village and 6 water around it
wheat = ash+ash+plains
Can't wait to see more

publish it on steam, i would love to pay for it and invest A LOT of hours playing the game!
I really like the concept and the game, but I got some frustrations playing it, so wanted to share my experience in case it can help you:

Thank you! These types of comments are a gold to me. Given time, we hope to address all of the points you've raised.
Stay posted as we'll have a big update coming soon :D
lmao i made a farm, beginner friendly too

Hey, nice spot! We will be fixing that one in the coming update 😁

Disconnected, leftmost column tiles, from bottom to top:
1. Steam = Fire + Water
2. Causeway = Lava + Water
3. Ash = Forest + Fire + Fire
4. ??
Tiles past the fifth column:
Wheat = Ash + Ash + Plains
Village = Water + Wheat + Plains
Some achievements:
Atlantis: Village surrounded by 6 water
Powerhouse: Wheat surrounded by 4+ villages works
Hey, I got the tile you needed, its desert + desert + water, thanks for the help you gave me :)
I KNOW WHAT THE TOP LEFT ONE IS
THE TOP LEFT ONE IS OASIS = DESERT + DESERT + WATER
This is an addictive experience! I really enjoyed creating this tiny world and attempting to optimize as best I could. Spending prestige points to upgrade the output I get at the cost of starting the world over makes for a satisfying game loop.

After figuting out your thinking and what your thoughts were like I actually made it to the village (last block on the tree as of posting)
Nice concept, too bad it doesn't save the process.
it save. you have to hit esc and hit save. it saves for what ever computer brower you are on
really polished and satisfying. I got up to mountaint, fully upgraded dirt, got a config with about 1355 production and just feel like I'm waiting forever with nothing to do to get 10000 to unlock another element. love this kinda thing, and its off to a great start :D

It does not save?! You should add a warning in the description.
Sorry this happened to you! We have fixed it now. Make sure to use the save option in the escape menu as the autosave on the browser is being inconsistent ☺️
i cant find anything beyond dirt rock soil and mountain
Very interesting concept, but perhaps I was doing something wrong. I found trying to discover new tiles past the basic Earth ones to be very frustrating. Hey thanks for the feedback! One thing that may be missing or glossed over is that recipes can be 3 or 7 tiles. Hope that helps!
running in background should work in the standalone version.
I definitely read the tutorial tooltips.. multiple times. Perhaps being a bit more explicit about the 7 tile formation could be beneficial
Right? It does not even seem to follow some logic so you can deduce the next step from the elements you already have.
I messed with Ice+Soil and Ice+Mountain for a good 5 minutes a piece and couldn't get anything. Tried all sorts of formations. Glad to see it wasn't just me.
i got ice+mountian but couldnt get ice+soil at all
any hints?
ice mountain is a single ice surrounded by 6 mountain
follow the lines, I just made it to the village :)
Yeah, I'm in the same state right now... maybe it's broken? idk, it doesn't make any sense now anymore
